Travel to and the first three months back in Portugal

Only the very last day in Spain we couldn't continue because Alfred, the cat, didn't come back. Apparently there were too many people at our car park and it was only in the evening, when everyone left, that he came running back hungry. I can't describe my relief!

Through Germany, via France and Spain, I travelled back to Portugal with my dog and this time even with my cat. The journey was magical and promised lots of new good things.

Back in Portugal - Alentejo

Nonetheless, I also met some wonderful people there and I am very happy about them. On a nine-day natural building course, I learnt how to build an entire house out of clay, straw and sand, which was super interesting and very empowering. I would love to build my own house according to my needs. I mean, Ido have some experience in architectural design, even if only on paper.

The first three months back in Portugal were very mixed. Things turned out differently than expected. I arrived again in October, this time in the Alentejo on a farm that I had high hopes for. I learnt a lot, albeit very different things than I had hoped. In my search for a place, for belonging, in which I had high hopes, I encountered the exact opposite. I was able to observe and see what I am and what the others are.

After two months, I moved house and finally felt a bit more settled. I can now stay here until May and I hope the universe will show me where to go after that.

At the turn of the year, I had a great visit from my dearest friends.

In the first three months, I learnt a lot about people who are right for me and people who are not good for me and who I am probably not good for either. I realised how completely different I feel in the right and wrong environment. In future, this should serve as a clear benchmark for me to make the right decisions and to stop choosing and enduring the ‘wrong’ one.

Even if I don't have any more answers yet, a place or people to whom I feel I really belong, I have experienced a lot of clarity.
