Sweden week five - Am I heading towards summer or autumn?
I'm writing here from week 6 in Sweden looking back on the last week.
When I upload the photos I often think, wow a lot has happened in one week! I've been on so many places, unbelievable! This is one of those weeks where there are photos without end and the experiences don't seem to fit into one week.
I was very lucky to meet friends who were also traveling in Sweden and spend a few days together. It was very nourishing and special.
Then suddenly it got much colder, especially the lakes. Now I wasn't just driving further north but also higher up into the mountains, which of course had an impact on the whole thing. As soon as I came down from the plateau, it was fall! The leaves were yellow, it really was like traveling through time. As I headed south again, there was no sign of it, I was back in summer and it was slowly getting warmer again. My body was a bit confused by it, but I already knew that from Norway last year. Anyway, traveling between Scandinavia in summer and Portugal in winter is very confusing for the body, I now only experience my cold in summer.
I set off to Sweden in mid-July and since then I've been wondering whether I'm chasing summer when I travel north or whether I'm already heading towards fall. In any case, the sun set later and the flowers still seemed to be in bloom, whereas further south they had already passed. I really hoped to travel back in this time so that I could still see lupine blossoms more in the north. But the further north I went, the more time had passed also for these plants. I was still able to catch a few little individual blossoms.
After I entered the fall, it suddenly got dark earlier. Now I no longer had to stay awake until after midnight, which is very difficult and only possible with the greatest effort for me, to hope for auroras. Now I could look up at the sky from 10 pm, soon from 9 pm. But so far I haven't had any luck. I'll keep looking up attentively!
