Norway week six - Fjords And Mountain Roads
Walter Mitty Moments
This week I've been thinking a lot about the special moments that have made this trip so magical for me so far. Actually, you always collect such moments while traveling, in the best case also in your daily life. Aren't they what life is all about?
At a lonely lake in the high mountains (at the end of the world) a boy let his toy boat sail over the crystal clear turquoise water as if it was a pond in the park. It was very magical.
I felt like Walter Mitty who, after the silence and the sighting of the snow leopard in the Himalayas, suddenly hears children playing soccer next to him and joins in. The change of energies is commonplace here. I am often too moved with amazement of the landscape that tears come to my eyes. I can only think "I love my life!". A few hours later I have seen enough and don't know why I am here at all. Then one of those moments comes around the corner again and I'm overjoyed. I guess that's called liveliness.
The silence that I often encounter here has also given me many special moments. The silence makes time stand still and again not. Since you hear nothing, no time seems to pass and yet the observed moves. So a small boat glided on a mirror-smooth lake without sound, a large swarm of seagulls circled quietly on the cliffs of a large mountain higher and higher, and the evening light shone on them. Elsewhere, paragliders flew up and down using the air currents between two mountains, no sound was heard in this place.

Things I have already learned:
10. Against the fear of missing something it helps to get out of the car and walk around for a short time. That works better than driving on quickly and hoping you'll forget.
11. Some things become bigger the further you move away from them.
12. Silence + Time = Eternity
If you're interested in my trip, you can get more day-to-day insights on Instagram in the stories and highlights!
The huge raven, at the viewpoint of Geiranger Fjord, which followed me friendly, was much more amazing than the view on which the many tourists directed their camera. The horse that I met last week on the roadside has brought me back to the here and now. The cows grazing next to the van in the morning filled me with joy.
At the North Cape it was sunny and scattered clouds passed directly over the plain. So sometimes you could not see far and still stood in the sun. Behind such a cloud of fog, cliffs and a narrow bay revealed themselves. It was quiet, nothing to hear, but then the bells of reindeer on the other side of the cliff tinkled, very close it sounded, but it was almost too far to see them. Later we were attacked by seagulls and the seagulls are huge here!
And then all the stories of the people you meet! The wonderful moments of this trip have burned themselves into my mind and always take place in a present moment. None of these moments could be captured by a camera.
I don't think I can describe here how these moments felt to me, but that's not the point, they were MY moments. Everyone collects their own.
